Pawnee Battles Lincolnwood in Straight-Set Defeat -

Pawnee stayed within striking distance in both sets, but Lincolnwood secured the points needed to finish each one, handing the Indians a 25-22, 25-20 loss in varsity volleyball action.

The Indians challenged the Lancers in a competitive opening set, finishing just three points short. Lincolnwood’s 25-22 victory gave the visitors to the matchup a one-set advantage and left Pawnee needing a second-set response to extend the match.

Pawnee increased its offensive production in the second set, recording six kills after totaling four in the opener. Despite that improvement, the Indians were unable to push the match to a deciding third set, as Lincolnwood finished with a 25-20 win to complete the sweep.

Senior Ashlyne Cobb led Pawnee’s attack with five kills on 18 attempts, accounting for half of the Indians’ 10 kills. Fellow senior Lily McCario contributed three kills, while Emma McKenzie and Jenna Berry added one apiece.

At the service line, Elisa Gall led Pawnee with two aces. Jada Johnson and Kloee Roland each added an ace, giving the Indians four for the match. Pawnee committed just three service errors across 41 attempts, with Johnson and Roland both completing their serving opportunities without an error.

The final margins reflected a competitive matchup, with only eight points separating the teams across both sets. Pawnee produced contributions from several players, but Lincolnwood’s ability to finish each set proved decisive as the Lancers earned the straight-set victory.
