The Rochester Rockets utilized a strong special teams game as they beat the Taylorville Tornadoes in Rochester 56-7 on Friday night. The Rockets would take a 42-7 lead at the end of the first quarter before putting the finishing touches on in the second. No points were scored during a running clock second half for either squad. Malique Pearse would get the lone Taylorville touchdown on a beautiful throw from Cameron Smith. The Taylorville Tornadoes finish their season 5-5. Rochester will take on Waterloo next weekend. Taylorville lost to Waterloo in the first round of the playoffs in 2024, 33-30.
