In one of the most anticipated matchups of the postseason, Rochester and Sacred Heart-Griffin delivered a classic Friday night showdown. The Rockets controlled the scoreboard for most of the game, but the Cyclones answered every punch, refusing to let their rivals pull away. The Rochester Rockets utilized a strong special teams game as they beat the Taylorville Tornadoes in Rochester 56-7 on Friday night. The Rockets would take a 42-7 lead at the end of the first quarter before putting the finishing touches on in the second. No points were scored during a running clock second half for either squad. Malique Pearse would get the lone Taylorville touchdown on a beautiful throw from Cameron Smith. The Taylorville Tornadoes finish their season 5-5. Rochester will take on Waterloo next weekend. Taylorville lost to Waterloo in the first round of the playoffs in 2024, 33-30.
