Edinburg Battles Back to Defeat Central A&M in Three Sets

Edinburg hosted a strong Central A&M team Thursday night, and the Raiders came out firing, taking the opening set 25-17.

The Wildcats quickly answered, however, as Reagan Swinger helped lead Edinburg’s comeback. Edinburg took the second set 25-18 before closing out the match with a 25-20 victory in the third set to win the match 2-1.

Swinger was a major factor throughout the comeback, finishing with 9 kills, 1 ace, 1 block and 7 digs. Lily Lock added 5 kills as Edinburg found enough offense to take control of the final two sets.

Central A&M showed why it is a tough team by jumping out to the early lead, but Edinburg’s response was the difference as the Wildcats rallied to win the final two sets at home.
