Tri-City’s offense came alive in a big way, rolling past Riverton 13-1 behind a dominant middle-inning surge and a strong performance in the circle from Hanna Ferriell.
Riverton struck first in the bottom of the opening inning, as Brooklyn Lanham delivered an RBI single to give the Lady Hawks an early 1-0 lead. That would be the only offense they’d find all game.
Tri-City answered in the 3rd, tying things up when Ava Pulliam executed a sacrifice bunt that brought Audrey Cooper home. From there, the Tornadoes took complete control.
The 4th inning broke things wide open. Lauren Gideon started the rally with an RBI groundout, followed by Jenna Ethington driving in two with a single. Audrey Cooper added another RBI knock, and Pulliam kept the line moving with a run-scoring single. Then came the biggest swing of the game — Tiffany Farley launched a two-run home run to right, capping a huge inning and pushing the lead to 9-1.
Tri-City didn’t slow down in the 5th. Ethington added another RBI single, and chaos on the bases led to three more runs scoring on an error during Pulliam’s bunt attempt, extending the lead to 13-1.
In the circle, Hanna Ferriell was in control throughout, allowing just 3 hits and 1 run over 5 innings while striking out 10 to secure the win.
Riverton struggled to contain Tri-City’s bats, with Gabriella Speaks taking the loss after surrendering 13 runs (10 earned) on 14 hits.
