Pana Shocks Greenville in 27-6 Victory

Pana delivered a statement Friday night, shocking Greenville 27-6 with a dominant performance on both sides of the ball.

The Panthers struck first late in the opening quarter when Newt Campbell broke free for a 60-yard touchdown run with 1:51 remaining. The PAT was good, giving Pana a 7-0 lead.

Pana extended its advantage in the second quarter as Jax Czaikowski scored on a 5-yard touchdown run with 4:36 left in the half. Pana took a 14-0 lead into the final minutes of the quarter.

Greenville finally answered when Bauer Ackerman found Isaiah Matthews for a 26-yard touchdown pass with 1:29 remaining. The PAT was no good, making it 14-6.

The Panthers’ defense came up with another huge play in the third quarter. Eian Vaughn intercepted Greenville and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown with 4:23 left in the quarter. The PAT was blocked, but Pana pushed its lead to 20-6.

Pana added one more touchdown early in the fourth when Cayden Durbin powered in from one yard out with 10:55 remaining. The PAT was good, making it 27-6.

From there, Pana’s defense finished the job, shutting out Greenville in the second half and securing a 27-6 victory.
