Rochester Rolls Past Lincoln 56-6

Rochester came out firing Friday night, scoring early and often on its way to a dominant 56-6 victory over Lincoln.

The Rockets jumped out to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter.

Rochester opened the scoring with a touchdown pass to Zane Zulauf, followed by a touchdown reception by Reece Gade to make it 14-0. Nate Swaney then broke loose for a 72-yard touchdown, extending the Rochester advantage to 21-0.

The Rockets continued their offensive attack in the second quarter. Zane Zulauf found the end zone again on a touchdown reception to make it 28-0.

Lincoln answered later in the quarter when Lincoln’s defense recovered a Rochester fumble in the air and returned it for a touchdown, cutting the deficit to 28-6.

Rochester quickly responded. Peyton Seifert hauled in a 53-yard touchdown reception, pushing the lead to 35-6.

With less than 20 seconds remaining in the half, the Rockets intercepted a pass. Rochester capitalized immediately, with Nate Swaney catching a touchdown pass as time expired. The extra point made it 42-6 at halftime.

The Rockets added two more touchdowns in the third quarter. Khordell Gregory scored on a touchdown reception with 8:16 remaining, followed by a rushing touchdown from Khornell Gregory with 2:40 left in the quarter.

Rochester entered the fourth quarter with a 56-6 advantage, and the running clock remained in effect the rest of the way.

The Rockets’ explosive passing attack and big-play ability proved to be too much for Lincoln, as Rochester controlled the game from the opening quarter through the final whistle.

Final: Rochester 56, Lincoln 6
