The Taylorville Tornadoes delivered a dominant, all-around performance, overwhelming North Mac in a 20-0 victory fueled by explosive offense and strong pitching.
Taylorville set the tone immediately in the top of the first inning. After capitalizing on an early error to plate the first run, the Tornadoes broke the game open with a three-run home run from Grace Rogers and a two-run blast by Carsen Corzine. Patient at-bats and aggressive baserunning helped extend the inning, as Taylorville surged out to a commanding lead.
The Tornadoes continued their offensive onslaught in the second inning. Nevaeh Wiley launched a two-run home run to left, while Olivia Gray added a triple to drive in another run. Peyton DeMichael and Corzine each contributed RBI hits, pushing the lead even further out of reach.
Taylorville wasn’t done, adding to their total again in the fourth inning. Ella Reiss drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in a run, followed by a two-RBI single from Wiley. Hope Kietzman added another RBI knock to cap off the scoring and push the Tornadoes to 20 runs on the day.
In the circle, Carsen Corzine was just as dominant as the offense, tossing a complete-game shutout. She allowed just one hit over four innings while striking out 10, completely silencing the North Mac lineup.
Taylorville finished with 13 hits and 20 runs, combining power, discipline, and execution in one of their most complete performances of the season.
