The Monticello Sages took the floor against Ridgeview with a championship berth on the line, and after a competitive opening stretch, Monticello asserted control to secure a 65–48 victory.
The game was tight early, but the Sages steadily pulled away behind a strong all-around effort and dominance in the paint. Matthias Rudolph recorded a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Nolan Buehnerkemper added another with 10 points and 12 boards. Ayden McCool led all scorers with 26 points, providing a consistent offensive spark throughout the contest.
Monticello’s second-half performance proved decisive, as the Sages ramped up the defensive pressure and controlled the tempo on both ends of the floor to build a comfortable lead.
With the win, the Sages advance to the Championship game, where they will face the winner of the Gold Pool on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at the Sievers Center.
