Rockets Battle at State Farm Classic, Fall to St. Joseph-Ogden

The Rochester Rockets girls basketball team hit the road early Friday morning, traveling to Normal to compete in the State Farm Classic. Coming off a tough loss the day before, the Rockets showed early fight and energy against St. Joseph-Ogden.

Rochester came out flying in the first half, led by Delaney Ferris, who poured in 11 points before the break. The Rockets played with pace and confidence, keeping the game tight and heading into halftime trailing just 23–21.

St. Joseph-Ogden found its rhythm early in the second half, knocking down shots from beyond the arc and creating separation on the scoreboard. Rochester struggled to slow the hot shooting, making it difficult to regain momentum.

Despite the deficit, the Rockets continued to compete. Alaina Stock provided a late spark with active defense, coming up with key steals and turning them into points to keep Rochester pushing until the final horn.

The Rockets ultimately fell 49–35 on the road, but the effort and growth were evident. With the season still early, Rochester continues to learn and develop. The Rockets will look to bounce back on Monday as they aim to return home with a win.
