Maroa-Forsyth Overwhelms Pittsfield in 63-0 Shutout Victory

Maroa-Forsyth set the tone from the opening kickoff Thursday night and never allowed Pittsfield to recover, combining a relentless offensive attack with a turnover-forcing defense to roll to a 63-0 road victory.

With limited individual statistics available from the matchup, the scoring notes still paint a clear picture of a game controlled by the Trojans from beginning to end. Maroa-Forsyth repeatedly capitalized on short fields and Pittsfield turnovers while its defense preserved the shutout through all four quarters.

The Trojans created their first opportunity before their offense even took the field. Maroa-Forsyth recovered a Pittsfield fumble on the opening kickoff, immediately putting the Trojans in position to strike.

Kaden Blunck finished the ensuing possession with a touchdown to give Maroa-Forsyth its first points of the night.

Special teams quickly created another opportunity. Pittsfield fumbled another kickoff, and Maroa-Forsyth recovered for the second time. Grady Chandler turned the extra possession into another touchdown, helping the Trojans establish control almost immediately.

Maroa-Forsyth’s defense then forced a punt, and Chandler found the end zone again with 5:18 remaining in the first quarter, giving him two touchdowns in the opening period.

The Trojans continued to create problems defensively, forcing another turnover with 2:36 remaining in the quarter. Maroa-Forsyth capitalized once again when No. 42 broke free for a touchdown of more than 60 yards.

The defensive pressure carried into the second quarter. Pittsfield managed to work its way toward the goal line, but the Trojans came up with a fourth-down stop near the end zone, denying the Saukees their best opportunity to get on the scoreboard.

Maroa-Forsyth turned the stop into more points, scoring again with 10:52 remaining before halftime. Blunck later added his second touchdown of the night at the 6:16 mark as the Trojans continued to pull away.

Little changed after halftime.

Maroa-Forsyth added another touchdown with 8:27 remaining in the third quarter before its defense delivered yet another fourth-down stop with 1:30 to play in the period.

The Trojans converted that defensive stand into one more score before the quarter ended. With 30 seconds remaining, Ryne Sager found the end zone to add to Maroa-Forsyth’s commanding advantage.

Neither team scored in the fourth quarter, leaving the Trojans with a 63-0 victory when the final whistle sounded.

While the available information does not include complete yardage, passing or rushing statistics, Maroa-Forsyth’s ability to control field position and create turnovers stood out throughout the night. The Trojans recovered fumbles on each of Pittsfield’s first two kickoffs, forced additional turnovers and came away with multiple fourth-down stops.

Blunck and Chandler each scored multiple touchdowns, while Sager added another score as several Trojans contributed to the offensive production.

Just as impressive was the performance on the other side of the football. Pittsfield never found the end zone, and Maroa-Forsyth’s defense repeatedly ended drives before the Saukees could generate any momentum.

From two early special-teams takeaways to a defense that refused to surrender a point, Maroa-Forsyth controlled every phase of the game. The result was a complete road performance and a decisive 63-0 shutout victory over Pittsfield.
