In Episode 9 of Beyond the Banner, Dave sits down with one of Taylorville’s most accomplished athletes, Allison Duncan (formerly Allison Curtin).

A standout at Taylorville High School, Allison went on to play college basketball at the University of Illinois and the University of Tulsa before reaching the highest level of the sport. In 2003, she was selected in the first round of the WNBA Draft, 12th overall, by the Houston Comets.

Allison reflects on her journey from Taylorville to the college ranks and ultimately to the WNBA, sharing stories from her playing career, the people who helped shape her along the way, and what it meant to represent her hometown on the biggest stages in basketball.

This is another story of a local athlete who went Beyond the Banner.
