The Taylorville Lady Tornadoes traveled to Mahomet-Seymour looking to pick up a key road win, knowing there was progress being made but still work to be done. Early on, that improvement was evident.
Taylorville came out strong in the first half, jumping out to a 13–4 lead behind hot shooting from Peyton DeMichael, who knocked down several big three-pointers. Bailey Jackson added to the momentum by attacking the basket, making strong moves in the paint and finishing through traffic. The Lady Tornadoes shared the ball well, showing solid team chemistry and creating quality looks on the offensive end.
However, the momentum shifted after halftime.
Mahomet-Seymour came out firing in the second half, relying on sharp perimeter shooting to swing the game in their favor. The Bulldogs caught fire from beyond the arc, stretching the floor and forcing Taylorville to play from behind. As the shots continued to fall, Mahomet-Seymour seized control and never looked back.
Despite the strong first-half showing from Taylorville, the Bulldogs’ second-half surge proved to be too much, as Mahomet-Seymour pulled away for a 64–44 Apollo Conference victory.
The Lady Tornadoes showed flashes of growth and potential, particularly early, but will look to put together a more complete four-quarter performance as conference play continues
