Raiders Roll Past Nokomis 10-1 Behind Hazelwonder’s Dominance

The Central A&M Raiders took control early and never looked back, powering past Nokomis 10-1 in a strong all-around performance.

Central A&M opened the scoring in the first inning, taking a 1-0 lead on an RBI groundout from Kylee Snearly that brought home Riley Hazelwonder. The Raiders continued to build in the second, as Brookelyn Jackson delivered an RBI single to make it 2-0.

The offense broke things open in the third inning. Jackson struck again with a two-run double, scoring Kayla McPeek and Olivia Kerby to extend the lead to 4-0. Central A&M kept the pressure on in the fourth, highlighted by a Callie Robertson two-run double and a Wesleigh Cochran two-run single, stretching the advantage to 8-0.

Jackson added another RBI in the fifth with a run-scoring single, and the Raiders tacked on two more in the sixth. Snearly drove in a run with a single, and McPeek followed with an RBI double to cap the scoring at 10-1.

Nokomis broke through in the sixth inning when Cloey Dirks doubled to left field, scoring Camryn Engelman for their lone run.

In the circle, Riley Hazelwonder was dominant, tossing a complete game while allowing just one run on four hits and striking out 13.
