Warrensburg-Latham exploded offensively Friday night, rolling past Shelbyville 10-0 behind a 14-hit performance and a dominant outing from Nathan Southern on the mound.
Southern tossed a complete-game one-hitter while striking out eight for the Cardinals. Shelbyville’s lone hit came from Collin Jones.
Warrensburg-Latham wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. Nathan Southern scored on a two-run single from Trenton Bridges before Brody Brown brought home another run on a fielder’s choice. Camden Auton later added a sacrifice fly to push the lead to 4-0.
The Cardinals continued to apply pressure throughout the game. Heath Preston picked up an RBI groundout in the third inning before Southern added another run with an RBI groundout in the fourth. Preston then delivered the big hit of the inning with a two-run double to extend the lead to 8-0.
Auton capped off the night with a solo home run in the fifth inning, and Jayden Peck followed with an RBI single to end the game via the run rule.
Trenton Bridges led the Cardinals offensively, finishing 3-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Jayden Peck also collected three hits, while Camden Auton added a homer and three RBIs.
For Shelbyville, Will Stirrett struck out one over 3.2 innings while Brady Clark worked in relief. Brewer Wakeland and Brady Clark each helped defensively in the field for the Rams.
