The Pana Varsity Panthers put together a complete performance on both sides of the ball, shutting out Meridian 6-0 behind a standout all-around game from Parker Moore.
Pana got on the board early in the first inning when Easton Malisia grounded out to bring home Cash Lynch for the game’s first run. They added to the lead in the fourth, as Jax Czaiowski laced a double to left field to make it 2-0.
The Panthers created separation in the fifth inning with a string of quality at-bats. Moore helped his own cause with an RBI single during the rally, while Carter Burris and Dane Epley also drove in runs to extend the lead to 6-0.
Moore was in full control from start to finish on the mound. The right-hander worked all seven innings, allowing just three hits while keeping Meridian off the scoreboard and striking out six. He mixed his pitches well, limited hard contact, and never allowed the game to speed up on him.
At the plate, Moore was just as effective, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, consistently setting the tone for the Panthers’ offense.
Meridian managed a few baserunners but couldn’t find a timely hit, as Pana’s defense backed Moore with a clean performance to secure the shutout victory.
