Lexington Shuts Out Clinton 8-0 Behind Dominant Performance

Clinton struggled to find any offensive rhythm on Saturday night, falling 8-0 to Lexington in a tough road loss.

Lexington wasted no time taking control of the game, jumping out early in the first inning. A two-run double by M. Lainhart put Clinton on their heels right away, and the Minutemen never looked back. The early deficit set the tone, as Clinton was unable to generate momentum offensively throughout the night.

The Minutemen continued to apply pressure in the second inning when B. Friedmansky launched a two-run home run to extend the lead to 4-0. Lexington added another run in the third, capitalizing on a Clinton error to make it 5-0.

Friedmansky struck again in the sixth inning, crushing his second home run of the game—another two-run shot—to push the lead to 7-0 and put the game well out of reach. Lexington tacked on one more run in the seventh to cap off the 8-0 victory.

Offensively, Clinton was held to just three hits on the night. Brock Wilson, Jack Manning, and Jaxon Reynolds each recorded one hit, accounting for all of the Maroons’ production at the plate. Despite drawing three walks as a team, Clinton could not capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Lexington’s pitching staff was dominant, racking up 10 strikeouts and keeping Clinton off the scoreboard in every inning.

The Maroons will look to bounce back in their next matchup as they aim to regroup and find consistency both at the plate and on the mound.
