The Pana Panthers were searching for a big conference win on the road Tuesday night as they took on rival Litchfield, and they found it in dramatic fashion with a 60–59 victory.
The game opened with Litchfield coming out hot, setting the tempo early and putting pressure on the Panthers. Pana was without Eian Vaughn, forcing the bench to step into larger roles, and they answered the call. Despite the early deficit, the Panthers stayed composed and battled through the first half, heading into the locker room trailing 34–28.
Knowing they needed a strong second half, Pana turned up the intensity on both ends of the floor. Cash Lynch provided a spark, stepping up with key plays and leadership to help close the gap. The game quickly turned physical and emotional, with a chippy atmosphere, plenty of fouls, and several heated discussions with the officials as both teams fought for every possession.
Down the stretch, the Panthers showed resilience and poise, making the crucial stops and baskets when it mattered most. In the end, Pana completed the comeback, edging out Litchfield 60–59.
The hard-fought win moves the Panthers to 1–1 in tournament play and gives them a much-needed confidence boost as they continue their run.
