Edinburg boys basketball returned to the home floor Tuesday night looking to respond, and the Wildcats did just that with a strong all-around performance against Mulberry Grove.
From the opening tip, Edinburg came out with urgency, setting the tone with aggressive defense and unselfish offense. Griff Swinger provided an early spark, contributing a double-digit scoring effort while also making an impact on the defensive end with his energy and hustle. Inside, Ian Dial played a key role by finishing tough looks in the paint and battling for position against Mulberry Grove’s post players.
The Wildcats’ success came from their team-oriented approach. The ball moved freely around the perimeter and into the lane, creating high-percentage opportunities both inside and outside. Multiple players got involved in the scoring column as Edinburg’s passing and spacing led to open shots and steady offensive rhythm.
Edinburg’s defensive pressure also played a major role, forcing tough shots and limiting second-chance opportunities. The Wildcats controlled the tempo and never allowed Mulberry Grove to find consistent momentum.
With the victory, Edinburg has now won four of its last five games and continues to build confidence as the season progresses. The Wildcats will look to keep that momentum going as they prepare for a challenging matchup against Nokomis.
The home crowd once again showed strong support, giving Edinburg a true home-court advantage and helping fuel the Wildcats’ bounce-back win.
