The Rochester Rockets earned a road victory Tuesday, October 13, defeating the Springfield Southeast Spartans in straight sets at Springfield Southeast High School. Rochester took the opening set 25–19 before closing out the match with a decisive 25–13 victory.
The win improved Rochester’s overall record to 20–3 and extended its winning streak to four matches.
The first set provided the tighter contest, with Southeast keeping the final margin within six points. The Spartans challenged Rochester in the opener, but the Rockets came away with the 25–19 win to take a 1–0 advantage.
Rochester followed with a stronger second set. After getting through the more competitive opener, the Rockets took greater control and limited Southeast to 13 points. The 12-point margin gave Rochester a convincing finish and secured the sweep without a deciding third set.
The difference between the two sets highlighted Rochester’s ability to follow a competitive start with a more commanding performance. Southeast remained within reach in the opener, but the Rockets gave the hosts less room in the second, doubling their winning margin.
The victory also continued Rochester’s recent success away from home. The Rockets have won 10 of their last 12 road matches, adding to a season that has now reached the 20-win milestone.
For Rochester, the night ended with a clear result: a competitive opening-set victory, a decisive second-set finish and another road win as the Rockets continue through the closing stretch of the regular season.
