Rams Fall in Heartbreaker at Sullivan, 51-50 in Overtime

The Rams made the trip to Sullivan on Friday night looking to snap a two-game losing streak, and they nearly did just that in a tightly contested battle that came down to the final moments.

The game was competitive from start to finish, with neither team able to pull away by more than a couple of possessions throughout regulation. Both squads came out shooting well early, trading baskets and momentum in an evenly played first half.

Sullivan began to seize control in the third quarter, putting together a strong run to build a nine-point advantage heading into the fourth. That lead grew to 12 early in the final period, but the Rams responded with resilience. Locking in defensively and finding timely scoring, the Rams erased the deficit, tied the game, and forced overtime.

In the extra period, the back-and-forth battle continued, but Sullivan edged out the Rams by the slimmest of margins, escaping with a 51-50 overtime victory.

With the loss, the Rams fall to 2-3 on the season. They will look to bounce back on December 26 when they face Cumberland at the Vandalia Holiday Tournament, hoping to turn the close loss into momentum moving forward.
