Pana Varsity Panthers dropped a tough one to Litchfield, falling 3–1 despite a competitive effort on both sides.
Litchfield struck early, putting up two runs in the first inning on a clutch RBI single that brought home a pair. Pana’s pitching settled in after that, with Easton Malisia delivering a strong complete-game performance, allowing just three runs (only one earned) over seven innings while striking out four.
The Panthers managed to scratch across their lone run thanks to aggressive baserunning and timely contact. Carder Burris and Madyx Angel each collected hits, with Burris also scoring Pana’s only run. The team showed patience at the plate with four walks, but couldn’t capitalize enough, finishing with just two hits overall.
Defensively, Pana had a few bright moments but was hurt by an error that contributed to Litchfield’s scoring. On the bases, the Panthers were active, with multiple stolen bases keeping pressure on, though it wasn’t enough to shift momentum.
In the end, Litchfield added an insurance run late, and Pana couldn’t mount a comeback, striking out 11 times as a team.
Pana will look to bounce back next game by building on Malisia’s strong outing and finding more consistency at the plate.
