On Tuesday night at 7 p.m., inside Pana High School, the Pana Panthers boys basketball team welcomed the Meridian Hawks to their home court. The Panthers delivered four strong quarters of basketball, showcasing excellent team chemistry, crisp ball movement, and nonstop energy to secure a 64–52 victory.
First Half
Pana came out fierce from the opening tip, showing more than just intensity, but discipline and focus on both ends of the floor. The Panthers knocked down shots early, limited Meridian’s open looks, and attacked the glass aggressively. Their rebounding and transition offense allowed them to capitalize on second chances and score before the Hawks could get set defensively.
Pana controlled the tempo throughout the first two quarters and headed into halftime firmly in front, leading 41–21.
Second Half
Meridian refused to let the early deficit define the night. The Hawks came out of halftime energized, pushing the ball up the floor and moving it well to find open shooters. Their improved pace and ball movement helped them chip into Pana’s 20-point lead.
Still, the Panthers stayed composed. They answered each Meridian run with timely baskets and solid defense, preventing the Hawks from completing the comeback. Down the stretch, Pana added a few more key scores to stretch the margin once again and close out the win.
Final Score:
Pana 64, Meridian 52
The victory marked another strong showing for the Panthers on their home floor, highlighting their depth, teamwork, and ability to respond when momentum begins to shift.
