The Clinton Lady Maroons continued their dominance in the Central Illinois Conference on Thursday night, rolling past the Central A&M Lady Raiders 77–37 in front of the home crowd in Clinton.
Clinton wasted no time setting the tone, jumping out to a commanding 27–7 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Lady Raiders managed to steady themselves in the second, but the Lady Maroons still carried a comfortable 42–20 advantage into halftime.
Any hope of a Central A&M comeback was quickly shut down in the third quarter, as Clinton turned the pressure back up on both ends of the floor. The Lady Maroons extended their lead to 61–30 after three quarters and cruised the rest of the way to another convincing conference victory.
Carly Anderson led Clinton with 20 points, while Lilah Cluver followed with 17. Avery Smith added 14 points, and Clara Dempsey chipped in 11. Clinton showcased its depth and balance, with no scorer finishing with fewer than seven points and the team knocking down seven three-pointers on the night.
Central A&M was led by Kylee Snearly, who poured in a game-high 21 points. Callie Robertson added seven for the Lady Raiders.
With the win, Clinton improves to 24–4 overall and 5–0 in CIC play, extending its winning streak to 20 games. Central A&M drops to 4–20 on the season and 0–4 in conference action.
The Lady Maroons will be back in action Monday night, hosting the Mt. Pulaski Lady Hilltoppers with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m. Fans can hear all the action on WHOW and across its digital platforms.
Later tonight, tune in to WHOW as the Clinton boys look to capture the CIC Tournament Championship in Tuscola against the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals. Tipoff for that matchup is scheduled for 8 p.m.
