Rockets Grind Out Gritty CS8 Road Win at Jacksonville

The Rochester Rockets proved their toughness on the road, earning a hard-fought Central State Eight victory at Jacksonville in a physical, foul-filled battle with the Crimsons.

From the opening tip, the game had a scrappy feel, with both teams battling through contact and frequent trips to the free-throw line. Rochester didn’t have its best shooting night, but the Rockets made up for it with effort, discipline, and defense when it mattered most.

Alaina Stock led the way for Rochester, knocking down a couple of key three-pointers and doing an excellent job facilitating the offense. Her court vision and unselfish play helped set up teammates for quality looks in a game where points were tough to come by.

Defense ultimately told the story. Head coach Rose credited the Rockets’ defensive intensity for the win, as Rochester locked in on the Crimsons and made life difficult all night. Even with shots not falling consistently, the Rockets stayed composed, converted more than half of their free throws, and controlled the game on the defensive end.

The road win is another important step for Rochester as they continue CS8 play. The Rockets will now reset and turn their attention to a tough matchup this Saturday when they face Lanphier, looking to carry the same defensive mindset into their next challenge.
