Pawnee then found the end zone through the air, with Gavin Greer catching a touchdown pass with 19.4 seconds left. The ensuing two-point conversion pushed the advantage to 22–0 heading into the second quarter.

Pawnee’s opening-half production came from both its rushing and passing attacks. Wort’s two touchdown runs and Lederbrand’s opening score accounted for three rushing touchdowns, while Seiz, Greer, Jankousky and Flesch combined for five touchdown receptions.
Metro East Lutheran added a touchdown pass with 4:01 remaining in the third quarter, bringing the score to 56–14 after an unsuccessful two-point attempt. The visitors scored once more in the closing minutes, producing the 56–20 final.
Although Metro East Lutheran added points after halftime, Pawnee’s substantial early lead kept the outcome firmly in the Indians’ control. Their ability to score repeatedly through the air and on the ground made the first half decisive, turning a fast start into a convincing home victory.
