Maroa-Forsyth High School has announced the return of Sean Martin as the Trojans’ head baseball coach.
Martin returns to a program he previously led to two IHSA Class 2A state finals appearances, including a state runner-up finish in 2024.
During his previous tenure, Martin guided Maroa-Forsyth to a 32-3 record in 2022 and a fourth-place finish at the state tournament. His 2024 team went 27-5 while capturing regional, sectional and super-sectional championships before advancing to the IHSA Class 2A state championship game.
Martin also led the Trojans to multiple regional championships during his previous tenure and was named Macon County Coach of the Year in 2004.
Maroa-Forsyth Athletic Director Phil Applebee said the school is excited to welcome Martin back to the program.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sean back to lead Trojan baseball,” Applebee said. “His accomplishments speak for themselves, but what makes this such an exciting hire is the caliber of leader he is. Sean knows our school and community, understands what it means to represent Maroa-Forsyth, and has a proven ability to bring out the best in our student-athletes.”
Martin’s return brings a familiar face and significant experience back to the Trojan baseball program as Maroa-Forsyth prepares for the upcoming season.
The hire was announced Monday, Sept. 28, by Maroa-Forsyth High School.
