Shelbyville controlled the game from start to finish, cruising to an 8-0 win over Central A&M.
Shelbyville wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. Collin Jones drove in a run with a single, and later Jack Clark ripped a double to left that brought in two more to make it 4-0 early.
They kept the pressure on in the second inning. Will Stirrett added an RBI single, and Austin Ulmer followed with a groundout that scored another run to extend the lead to 6-0.
Shelbyville added to their lead again in the fourth after a Central A&M error allowed another run to score, making it 7-0. In the sixth, Rylan Murphy delivered an RBI single to cap off the scoring at 8-0.
On the mound, Austin Ulmer was dominant. The senior threw a complete game, allowing just three hits while striking out 11 and walking two in a shutout performance.
Shelbyville finished with nine hits on the day and took advantage of key opportunities throughout the game to stay in control.
