Rochester faced off against Williamsville in a hard-fought battle that stayed tight from start to finish. Neither side was able to break through in the first half, as Rochester’s defense held strong and kept the Bullets off the board.
Rochester created several quality chances early on, including a near goal from Brooklyn Lowder that was denied by the Williamsville defense. In the midfield, Mary Jane Keller controlled the tempo, delivering strong passes, creating opportunities, and getting a few shots of her own on net.
The second half mirrored the intensity of the first, turning into a physical and chippy contest with both teams battling for control. The breakthrough finally came when Charli Lowder played a perfectly placed ball over the top of the Bullets’ defense. Kate Gross ran onto it and buried the finish, giving Rochester the game’s only goal.
That proved to be the difference, as Rochester’s defense continued to stand tall and secure the shutout victory.
