Tri-City’s offense exploded early and never slowed down Wednesday night as the Tornadoes cruised to a 17-0 win over Nokomis in four innings.
The Tornadoes piled up 10 hits and scored in nearly every way possible — doubles, bunts, walks, wild pitches, stolen bases, and aggressive baserunning. Tri-City put together a massive first inning, scoring 10 runs before adding seven more in the second.
Audrey Cooper led the offensive attack with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, scoring three runs and driving in three more. Cooper delivered RBI singles in both the first and second innings as Tri-City consistently pressured the Nokomis defense.
Tiffany Farley added a big RBI double in the opening inning, while Lexi Patton ripped a two-run double later in the frame to push the lead to double digits. Hanna Ferriell finished with two runs scored, an RBI, and two walks, while Ava Pulliam added two hits and two RBIs.
The Tornadoes also showcased aggressive baserunning, recording multiple steals and taking advantage of several wild pitches and defensive miscues.
In the circle, Lily Woodworth was dominant for Tri-City, tossing a complete-game three-hit shutout with six strikeouts and no walks over four innings.
Nokomis managed just three hits in the loss, with Camryn Engelman collecting two of them. Maddison DeWerff added the other hit for the Lady Redskins.
