Raiders Celebrate Senior Night with Gritty Win Over Bobcats

It was Senior Night for the Central A&M High School Raiders, and the boys basketball team made sure it was one to remember, battling past the Cowden-Herrick High School / Beecher City High School co-op Bobcats for a 52-48 victory.

From the opening tip, the game was a back-and-forth fight. Both teams matched each other’s intensity, trading baskets throughout the first half. The Bobcats were able to build momentum early and slowly stretch their lead possession by possession. Despite that push, the Raiders stayed within striking distance by knocking down key shots and keeping the gap manageable heading into halftime.

After the break, Central A&M came out with renewed defensive energy. The Raiders forced steals, applied heavy pressure, and turned turnovers into crucial points on the other end. That defensive spark shifted the momentum, and by the end of the third quarter, Central A&M had erased the deficit and tied the game.

The fourth quarter brought more pressure from the Bobcats, who tightened up defensively and forced several late-clock situations. With time becoming a major factor, the Raiders remained composed. Executing in key moments and converting important shots down the stretch, Central A&M closed the game strong to secure the 52-48 Senior Night win.

It was a fitting finish for the Raiders’ seniors — a hard-fought victory earned through resilience, defense, and poise when it mattered most.
