The Pleasant Plains Cardinals turned in a dominant performance in regional play, overwhelming the South County Vipers 56–11 to advance in postseason action.
Pleasant Plains set the tone immediately, jumping out to a commanding 22–2 lead by the end of the first quarter. Their relentless defensive pressure created a flurry of steals, many of which were quickly converted into points on the other end. By halftime, the Cardinals had extended their advantage to 36–4, firmly in control of the contest.
Offensively, Pleasant Plains focused on attacking the paint rather than relying on perimeter shooting. Strong drives and consistent finishes around the basket kept the scoreboard moving, while their speed and ball pressure made it difficult for South County to establish any offensive rhythm or find quality scoring opportunities.
Despite the lopsided score, the Cardinals never let up, maintaining their intensity on both ends of the floor throughout the game. South County struggled to generate offense against the suffocating defense, as Pleasant Plains controlled the tempo from start to finish to secure an emphatic regional victory.
