The Pana Panthers put together a commanding performance on the volleyball court, taking control early and never looking back on their way to a 2-0 varsity victory over the Tri-City Tornadoes.
Pana captured the opening set 25-16 before turning in an even stronger performance in Set 2, defeating Tri-City 25-12 to complete the straight-set sweep.
The Panthers wasted little time establishing themselves in the opening set. Pana was able to create separation as the set progressed, keeping the Tornadoes from developing the sustained run they needed to close the gap.
Tri-City continued to battle and attempted to slow Pana’s momentum, but the Panthers remained composed and maintained control down the stretch. Pana eventually finished off the first set with a 25-16 victory, putting the Panthers one set away from securing the match.
Rather than allowing Tri-City an opportunity to swing the momentum, Pana came out even stronger in the second set.
The Panthers quickly took command and continued adding to their advantage throughout the frame. Pana’s consistency made it difficult for the Tornadoes to string together points, and the Panthers continued to apply pressure as they moved closer to the sweep.
With the match firmly in their control, Pana closed out the second set 25-12, completing an impressive two-set victory.
The Panthers outscored Tri-City 50-28 across the match, with Pana’s ability to build leads and finish sets highlighting a strong all-around performance.
For Tri-City, the Tornadoes continued competing despite facing an early deficit, but they were unable to find an answer for a Pana squad that maintained its momentum from beginning to end.
For the Panthers, the straight-set victory provided another opportunity to build confidence and chemistry early in the 2026 volleyball season as Pana continues its fall campaign.
