Central A&M hit the road for the first time this season Friday night and returned home with a dominant 33-0 shutout victory over Tremont.
The Raiders controlled the game from the opening quarter, building a 6-0 lead after one before breaking things open with 15 points in the second quarter. Central A&M added 12 more in the third quarter before a scoreless fourth quarter put the finishing touches on the shutout.
Central A&M quarterback Jett Evans had a strong night through the air, completing 14 of 22 passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns. Evans connected with several different receivers throughout the night while also accounting for big plays down the field.
The Raiders got on the board in the first quarter when Kadyn Higgins found the end zone on a 4-yard touchdown run, giving Central A&M an early 6-0 advantage.
Evans and the Central A&M passing attack took over in the second quarter. Aidan Sites hauled in a 5-yard touchdown pass from Evans, followed by a huge 65-yard touchdown connection from Evans to Victor Ravelo. Emett Stenger then added a 2-yard rushing touchdown as the Raiders took a commanding lead into halftime.
Central A&M continued to pile it on in the third quarter. Evans connected with Rhett McLain for a 50-yard touchdown, while the Raiders’ defense continued to keep Tremont off the scoreboard.
The Raiders’ defense completed the shutout in the fourth quarter, allowing Central A&M to close out its first road trip of the season with a 33-0 victory.
