Week 2 of the Pleasant Plains Summer Volleyball League gave us another look at two area teams that are trending in different directions, but both have plenty to be excited about heading into the season.
Rochester showed why they are one of the teams to beat this year. Returning a veteran group, the Rockets were clicking on all cylinders with power, experience, and confidence. Peyton Zeidler brought the fire while Cami Tinder continued to show her poise, using great placement to keep the offense moving.
Taylorville may have a young roster, but don’t let that fool you. The Tornadoes battled all night and showed flashes of what could be a very exciting future. Elsie Williamson and Nora Thomas brought plenty of power from the outside, while freshman Ella Bertelson continues to impress every time she steps on the court. She looks like a player Tornado fans will be talking about for years to come.
These two teams will meet when the regular season opens on August 24 in Taylorville, and after what we saw Tuesday night, it’s a matchup you won’t want to miss.
