Panthers Punch Ticket to Regional Championship with Dominant Shutout of Warrensburg-Latham

The Pana Panthers are headed to the Regional Championship.

Behind a relentless offensive outburst in the fourth inning and a combined three-hit shutout from Easton Malisia and Carder Burris, Pana rolled past Warrensburg-Latham 10-0 in six innings during a Class 2A Regional Semifinal matchup.

The Panthers collected 10 hits, drew six walks, and capitalized on several Cardinal miscues while keeping Warrensburg-Latham off the scoreboard all afternoon.

Pitching Sets the Tone Early

Pana’s pitching staff was in command from the opening pitch.

Starter Easton Malisia worked the first 3⅓ innings, allowing just two hits while striking out four and walking none. Malisia consistently attacked the strike zone and stranded the few runners that reached base.

Carder Burris took over in relief and was equally effective, tossing the final 2⅔ innings while surrendering only one hit and striking out three. Together, the Panthers’ duo limited Warrensburg-Latham to just three hits and one walk while recording seven strikeouts.

The Cardinals threatened briefly in the third inning when Brody Brown and Nathan Southern delivered back-to-back singles, but Malisia escaped the jam with a strikeout and a routine popout to preserve the scoreless tie.

Panthers Break Through in the Fourth

After three scoreless innings, Pana’s offense erupted in the top of the fourth and never looked back.

Cash Lynch started the rally with a single before Parker Moore followed with a base hit to center. Consecutive walks to Burris and Jax Czaikowski forced home the game’s first run, giving the Panthers a 1-0 advantage.

With the bases loaded, Madyx Angel lined a single to left field that scored Brylan Miller and Lynch, extending the lead to 4-0.

Dane Epley followed with a sacrifice bunt that plated Moore, and another walk loaded the bases again. Burris then delivered an RBI single before Parker Moore later scored on a wild pitch.

When the dust settled, Pana had sent 13 batters to the plate and exploded for seven runs in the inning, taking a commanding 7-0 lead.

Panthers Add Insurance

Pana continued to apply pressure in the sixth inning.

After Lynch and Moore reached safely, Moore drove in a run with an RBI single to left field. Burris added another run-scoring ground ball, and Moore later crossed the plate on a throwing error to push the advantage to 10-0.

The Panthers’ aggressive baserunning also played a major role. Lynch and Moore each recorded stolen bases, while Pana consistently advanced runners into scoring position throughout the contest.

Offensive Leaders

The Panthers’ lineup produced contributions from top to bottom.

Cash Lynch led the attack with a perfect 3-for-4 afternoon, scoring once and driving in two runs. Parker Moore finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs, two runs scored, a stolen base, and a clutch pair of hits during Pana’s biggest rallies.

Madyx Angel went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a walk, while Carder Burris scored twice and drove in a run. Dane Epley added an RBI, and Jax Czaikowski contributed a hit and a run batted in.

Regional Championship Bound

Pana’s combination of dominant pitching, timely hitting, and disciplined plate appearances proved too much for Warrensburg-Latham to overcome.

The Panthers finished with 10 runs on 10 hits while holding the Cardinals scoreless and allowing only three hits. With the convincing regional semifinal victory, Pana advances to the Regional Championship, carrying momentum and confidence as the postseason journey continues. Final Score: Pana 10, Warrensburg-Latham 0 (6 innings)
