Tri-City TCSVMP exploded offensively and never looked back in a dominant 16-0 regional victory over Carlinville on Tuesday night.
The Tornadoes wasted no time taking control, plating 11 runs in the opening inning behind aggressive baserunning, patience at the plate, and timely hitting. Tri-City drew multiple walks early before Lily Woodworth delivered an RBI single to make it 3-0. Hanna Ferriell later added another RBI after reaching on a walk, and the Tornadoes continued to capitalize on defensive miscues and wild pitches.
Audrey Cooper ripped an RBI single, Maebri Bender followed with another run-scoring hit, and Tiffany Farley added a sacrifice fly as the lead quickly ballooned. Hanna Ferriell later brought home two more runs with a hard-hit single in the third inning to cap the offensive outburst.
Tri-City added to the lead in the second inning when Ellie Cummins doubled to left field to score Hayli Ferriell, while additional runs came home on wild pitches and productive outs.
Lily Woodworth was dominant in the circle for the Tornadoes, tossing a complete-game two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and no walks across four innings.

With the win, Tri-City advances to the regional championship game where the Tornadoes will face Gillespie on Saturday at 11 a.m. Carlinville closes its season following the postseason defeat.
