On a cold and rainy night in Jacksonville, the Rochester Rockets battled through the weather and sloppy conditions to earn a 4-0 CS8 win over the Jacksonville Crimsons.
Both teams struggled to find rhythm early as the rain affected passing and movement throughout the match. Rochester had trouble connecting offensively and timing runs behind the defense, but a key adjustment from Coach Burke changed the momentum. Mary Jane Keller was moved up top and immediately made an impact, breaking through the defense twice to score a pair of first-half goals and give the Rockets control.
In the second half, Rochester completely shut things down defensively, rarely allowing Jacksonville across midfield. The back line of Cami Berberet, Katie Reidle, Abby Mehring, and Myra Gibson controlled the match and kept the Crimsons from generating any dangerous opportunities.
Alaina Stock added to the lead with a strong strike into the net to make it 3-0 before Brooklyn Lowder capped the night with another clinical finish into the bottom left corner.
