The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) has announced its Girls Coaches of the Year, recognizing standout leadership and success from across the state during the high school basketball season.
Among those honored are two coaches from the ILSportsWire coverage area, highlighting the continued growth and competitiveness of girls basketball programs locally.
Both coaches will be recognized at the annual Coach of the Year Luncheon on Saturday, May 2 at CEFCU Arena on the campus of Illinois State University.
Local honorees include:
- Josh Williams — Clinton
- Ryan McVickers — Mt. Pulaski
Both Williams and McVickers guided their programs through impressive seasons, earning recognition from coaches across Illinois for their leadership, preparation, and impact on their student-athletes.
The IBCA Coach of the Year award is one of the top honors in Illinois high school basketball, celebrating not only wins and accomplishments, but also the dedication and influence coaches have on their teams both on and off the court.
