Warrensburg-Latham Falls to Pleasant Plains After Costly Third Inning

Pleasant Plains broke things open with a huge third inning and never looked back, defeating Warrensburg-Latham 7-3 in a game fueled by timely hitting and capitalizing on defensive miscues.

After a quiet start, Pleasant Plains erupted in the bottom of the third, plating six runs to take full control. The inning was sparked by an RBI single from Delaney Murphy, followed by a groundout from Anna Nestler that brought in another run. From there, the Cardinals took advantage of multiple Warrensburg-Latham errors, turning routine plays into scoring opportunities. Reese Cline added an RBI single, while additional runs crossed on a series of defensive miscues to make it 6-0.

Warrensburg-Latham showed life in the top of the fourth, stringing together quality at-bats. Emilia Coble delivered an RBI single, Addisyn Franklin knocked in a run with a base hit, and Kelsey Oakley added a productive groundout to trim the deficit to 6-3.

However, Pleasant Plains quickly answered in the bottom half of the inning when Delaney Murphy crushed a home run to center field, extending the lead to 7-3 and putting the game out of reach.
