TCSVMP Stays Unbeaten After Wild 6-6 Tie with Havana

TCSVMP kept its unbeaten season intact on Saturday, battling back from an early deficit to earn a 6-6 tie against Havana, moving to 9-0-1 on the season.

Havana came out swinging early, jumping ahead in the third inning when Kaydi Miller launched a two-run home run to give the Ducks a 2-0 lead. Miller struck again in the fourth, ripping an RBI double to extend the lead to 3-0 and put TCSVMP on its heels.

TCSVMP responded in a big way in the bottom half of the fourth. Lexi Patton got things started with a solo home run to cut into the deficit. Later in the inning, Maebri Bender drove in a run with a single, and TCSVMP capitalized on a wild pitch and a groundout from Lily Woodworth to tie the game at 3-3.

TCSVMP kept the momentum rolling in the fifth inning. Hanna Ferriell delivered the biggest hit of the game, lining a two-run single to give TCSVMP its first lead at 6-3.

But Havana wasn’t done.

In the top of the sixth, Ava Kramer flipped the game on its head with one swing, blasting a three-run triple to center field to tie the game at 6-6. Despite chances late, neither team could push across the go-ahead run, and the game ended in a draw.

Woodworth went the distance in the circle for TCSVMP, striking out nine, while Madolyn Howerter matched her with a complete game effort for Havana.
