Raiders Explode Early, Roll Past Okaw Valley 14-4

The Central A&M Raiders put together a dominant offensive performance and never looked back, powering past Okaw Valley with a 14-4 win.

Central A&M wasted no time setting the tone, erupting for a huge first inning to grab early control. The Raiders capitalized on multiple defensive miscues by Okaw Valley and strung together timely hits to build a quick 9-0 advantage. Wesleigh Cochran led the charge with a huge day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored, while Kylee Snearly added a 3-for-4 performance with 2 RBIs and 2 runs. RBI knocks from several hitters, along with aggressive baserunning, helped break the game open before Okaw Valley could settle in.

The Raiders continued to apply pressure in the second inning, adding to their lead behind more clutch hitting. Shelby Younker (2-for-3, RBI) and Callie Robertson (1-for-4, RBI) contributed key hits, while Brookelyn Jackson scored three runs and reached base via a hit-by-pitch and walk, helping push the margin to double digits and putting Okaw Valley in a deep early hole.

Okaw Valley managed to get on the board in the third inning, scoring four runs with a series of singles and productive at-bats. Keeley Collins (1-for-3, RBI), Gracie Plummer (1-for-3, RBI), and Gabby Totten (RBI) highlighted the Timberwolves offensive effort, showing some life at the plate. However, Central A&M responded quickly to halt any momentum.

In the bottom half of the fourth and into the fifth, the Raiders answered back with more offense. Kayla McPeek and Olivia Kerby each drove in a run, while Broklin Justice and Cochran continued to spark the lineup, extending the lead to 14-4 as Central A&M consistently found gaps and executed with runners on base.

Defensively, the Raiders tightened up after the third inning, shutting down any further scoring chances. In the circle, Olivia Kerby earned the win, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits over 3 innings, while Riley Hazelwonder closed it out with 2 scoreless innings, striking out 5 and allowing no hits. Strong fielding backed the pitching effort and kept Okaw Valley from mounting a comeback.

Central A&M balanced patience at the plate with aggressive hitting, finishing with 12 hits and 10 RBIs as a team, taking advantage of nearly every opportunity. The early offensive explosion proved to be the difference, as the Raiders cruised to a convincing 14-4 victory.
