The Taylorville Tornadoes headed south on Monday night looking to continue their winning ways and did just that, cruising to a 71–45 victory in a packed gym at Litchfield High School.
Taylorville wasted no time getting going, jumping out to a 12–2 run to open the game and setting the tone early. The Tornadoes’ fast start carried into the second quarter, where they outscored the Toppers 23–9 and built a commanding 20-point lead by halftime.
Sophomore standout Brock Brock was nearly unstoppable in the first half, throwing down a dunk and pouring in 19 points before the break. His energy on both ends of the floor helped Taylorville control the tempo and leave Hillsboro with little room to operate in the tight confines of the gym.
Despite the limited space, the Tornadoes never let up, continuing to attack offensively and apply pressure defensively. Taylorville maintained control throughout the second half, never allowing Hillsboro to mount a serious comeback.
The 71–45 win marks another strong performance for a Tornadoes team that has made a habit of starting fast and pulling away early. Taylorville will look to carry that momentum into its next matchup as they seek revenge against Chatham tomorrow night. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
