The Rams made the trip to Beecher City on January 6th to take on the CHBC Bobcats, riding a four-game winning streak and growing confidence as they continued to find their rhythm this season. What followed was a hard-fought, physical battle that lived up to the hype from start to finish.
From the opening tip, neither team was able to pull away. The Rams and Bobcats traded baskets all night, with the game never stretching beyond a couple of possessions. Defense was intense, rebounds were contested, and every point came at a premium as both teams matched each other’s energy.
After four quarters of back-and-forth action, the scoreboard read 48–48, forcing the game into overtime. The extra period brought more of the same — clutch shots, tough defense, and relentless effort from both sides. With the clock winding down and the score tied at 56–56, Shelbyville’s Gabe Georges stepped up in the biggest moment, knocking down a buzzer-beating shot to secure a dramatic victory for the Rams.
Georges, alongside Owen Beyers, led the Rams offensively, delivering key baskets throughout the game and in crunch time. Both players consistently answered when the Rams needed scoring the most. Brady Brinkoetter also put together a standout performance, making his impact felt on both ends of the floor by doing the little things and stepping up wherever the team needed him.
With the thrilling win, the Rams improve to 7–5 on the season and extend their winning streak to five games. The momentum continues to build as they now turn their attention to a major challenge, preparing to take on the undefeated Tuscola Warriors on January 9th.
